What is the effect of retaliation in kind (*qisas*) upon the *tadbir*?

If the felony warrants retaliation resulting in the loss of life (*qisas* in the soul), the *tadbir* is nullified. If the retaliation is limited to a limb or part of the body (*qisas* in the limb), the *tadbir* remains valid.
