Primary text
The offspring of a Mudabbar possesses the same legal status as its mother. This is the unanimous view without known dispute, held by Ibn Umar, Atta, Zuhri, Awza'i, and Layth. The legal basis is that the status of the child regarding servitude or freedom follows the status of the mother. Therefore, if the mother is a Mudabbara, the child is also a Mudabbar.
