What is the legal status of a slave upon completing the entire Quran if the master said: 'If you read the Quran, you are free after my death'?

If a master states to his slave, 'If you read the Quran (with Alif and Lam), you are free after my death,' and the slave reads the entire Quran, the slave becomes a Muddabbar (one promised manumission upon the master's death). The use of 'Al-Quran' with the definite article (Alif and Lam) implies totality and entirety of the text.
