What is the legal status of a slave conditionally manumitted upon death and the passage of time, concerning earnings and offspring?
General Chapter

Book of Tadbir (Deferred Emancipation)
Primary text
If manumission is declared valid (according to the opinion that it takes effect), the slave remains the property of the heir prior to the fulfillment of the conditions, and any earnings acquired belong to the heir, similar to an Umm Walad or a Muddabbar during the life of the master. If the slave is a female who gives birth before the condition for manumission is met, her offspring follows her status in the conditional manumission and is freed when the condition is fulfilled, just as she is freed.
