Is the manumission (Tadbir) of a mute person valid?

The Tadbir of a mute person is valid if their established sign language or writing is known. Their revocation of Tadbir is also valid, assuming revocation is permissible, because their sign language and writing take the place of the speech of one who can articulate in matters of legal rulings.
