What is the ruling if the master makes the designation (Tadbir) while already in a state of apostasy?

Primary text
If the designation occurs during apostasy, it is considered conditionally valid. If the master returns to Islam, the designation is proven to have been valid from the start. If the master dies or is killed while apostate, the designation is proven void, and the slave is not freed. Ibn Abi Musa and Abu Bakr hold that the designation is void because ownership is lost upon apostasy, and any subsequent return to ownership upon embracing Islam is a new acquisition.
