Competition involving horses, other animals, or foot races is permissible (*mubah*) and carries no disrepute (*dana'ah*). Consequently, a witness who participates in such competitions does not have their testimony rejected. This permissibility is established through prior legal discussion and analogy, such as with spear-jousting (*thaqaf*) and playing with lances (*harab*). The allowance for playing with lances is evidenced by the Abyssinian display before the Prophet, peace be upon him, while Aisha watched from behind him until she grew tired.
