Primary text

If the sin imposes a right belonging to Allah, such as withholding Zakat, or a right belonging to another human, such as usurpation (Ghasb), repentance requires the aforementioned elements (regret, resolve not to repeat) plus abandoning the transgression according to one's ability. This means paying the Zakat or returning the usurped item, or its equivalent if it is a fungible item, or its value otherwise. If one is unable to do so immediately, one must intend to return it when able.
