Primary text
If a man claims another intentionally shot his brother with an arrow, killing him, and the arrow then struck and unintentionally killed another brother, and this is proven by one male witness and two females, or one male witness and an accompanying oath, the unintentional killing of the second brother is established because it mandates financial compensation. However, the intentional killing of the first brother is not established because it mandates retribution. They are treated as two separate injuries.

According to the view of Abu Bakr, neither claim is established because in his view, any injury, whether its consequence is financial or otherwise, is not established except with two male witnesses.
