Is the testimony of a formerly enslaved person, whose testimony was initially rejected due to their status, acceptable after they have been manumitted and repeated the testimony?
General Chapter

Book of Testimonies
Primary text
There are two narrations from Ahmad regarding a slave whose testimony was rejected due to slavery and who is later freed before repeating it. The preferred view is that the testimony should be accepted because manumission is not an action of the witness but an external event that becomes apparent, unlike moral corruption (fisq) which is chosen.
Supporting text
Some narrations state that the testimony should be rejected, following the principle that a rejected testimony remains rejected, similar to the testimony of a former transgressor.
