Is the testimony of a person lacking intellect valid?
General Chapter

Primary text
The testimony of an individual lacking intellect is invalid, by consensus. This applies whether the lack of intellect stems from insanity, intoxication, or being a minor. This is because such a person does not fully comprehend matters, and confidence cannot be placed in their statements. Additionally, they are not held accountable (sinful) for lying, nor do they take care to avoid it.
