Primary text
The testimony of a man for his foster son, his foster father, and other relatives by fosterage is permissible. This is because there is no blood relationship between them that necessitates mutual financial support (infaq), maintenance of ties (silah), the freeing of one by the other, or the free disposition of one's wealth over the other, unlike blood kinship.
