Primary text
If a garment originally valued at ten is completely destroyed, and subsequently the market value of similar garments doubles to twenty, the usurper is only liable to guarantee the original value of ten. The value fixed in the debt (dhimma) at the time of destruction does not increase due to subsequent market inflation, nor does it decrease due to market deflation.
