Primary text

If the value neither increases nor decreases, the usurper returns both items and owes nothing. If the value increases, the entirety of the increase belongs to the owner, and the usurper receives nothing, as his entitlement is only related to the dye's effect, not its substance. If the value decreases due to the dyeing process, the usurper is liable for compensating the loss because the decrease resulted from his transgression. If the decrease results from a change in market prices, the usurper is not liable.
