Primary text
If a usurper splits an item, such as a garment, in half, and the cutting diminishes its value, the usurper must return both pieces and compensate for the diminished value (arsh of the defect). If one half is subsequently destroyed, the usurper must return the remaining half, pay the value of the destroyed half, and compensate for the diminution in value caused by the initial splitting.
