Must the usurper transport the item to a location that is not on the direct route back to the owner?
General Chapter

Book of Usurpation
Primary text
The usurper is not obligated to carry the item to another location not on the path of its return, regardless of whether that alternate location is nearer or farther than the original point of return, because this constitutes a contractual exchange. Similarly, if the usurper offers to leave the item in its current location in exchange for the cost of returning it, the owner cannot compel acceptance of this, as it is also a contractual matter. Any agreement reached between the parties regarding these matters is valid because the rights involved belong to both parties and any agreement concerning them is permissible.
