Does fulfilling the obligatory Hajj discharge a vow (Nathr) to perform Hajj in the same year?

Primary text
There are two narrations attributed to Imam Ahmad regarding a person who vows to perform Hajj in the current year while the obligatory Hajj (Hajjat al-Islam) is also incumbent upon them. The first narration states that the Hajjat al-Islam suffices for both the obligatory Hajj and the vow. This opinion was narrated by Abu Talib. The basis for this view is that the person vowed an act of worship within a specified time, and that act was performed within that time, similar to when someone vows to fast the month of Ramadan.

The second narration states that the vow is established, requiring a second Hajj separate from the Hajjat al-Islam. In this case, the person must first perform the Hajjat al-Islam and then fulfill the vow later. The evidence cited is that these are two acts of worship obligated by two different causes, so one does not discharge the other, analogous to vowing two separate Hajj pilgrimages.
