Primary text

If one spoils a vowed Hajj that was performed while walking, the makeup Hajj (Qada') must also be performed while walking. This is because the makeup performance must conform to the manner of the original performance. Furthermore, if the Hajj is missed entirely, the associated subsequent acts of the standing at Arafat, such as staying overnight in Muzdalifah and Mina, and the stoning (Ramy), are dropped. The person transitions to an Umrah, and must walk for the spoiled Hajj until completion of its rituals.
