Primary text
If a woman completes her waiting period based on months (Shuhur) and subsequently gives birth within four years, the lineage of the child is attributed to the former husband. If she claimed menopause (Iyās), her claim is proven false, as a pregnant woman is not considered menopausal. If she was among those who had not yet reached puberty (and thus had no menses) or was a widow, the child is attributed to him because nothing exists that contradicts the possibility of her being pregnant during the Iddah period.
