Does the delivery of mere seminal fluid (Nutfah) or a blood clot (Alaqah) terminate the waiting period?

Book of Waiting Periods ('Iddah)
Primary text
Delivery of seminal fluid or mere blood, without certainty if it is that from which a human is formed, results in no legal ruling. Similarly, delivering an *Alaqah* yields no ruling; the waiting period is not terminated, nor is a slave woman freed. This position is affirmed by Ahmad, who stated that an *Alaqah* is treated as blood, and no ruling applies. There is no known dissenter to this regarding the *Alaqah*, except Al-Hasan, who held that if it is known to be a fetus, the waiting period ends, and *Ghurrah* (a fine for negligent abortion) is due. The former view, shared by the majority, is correct.
