Primary text

If the ruling is that she cannot remarry, her maintenance does not cease unless she remarries. If she remarries, her maintenance ceases because she leaves his control and becomes disobedient (Nashiz). If separation occurs through the judge or otherwise, she has no maintenance during the Iddah. If the Iddah concludes and she does not return to the marital residence, she has no maintenance as she remains in a state of Nashuz (disobedience). If she returns to his residence, maintenance might resume because the cause of its cessation (Nashuz) is gone, or it might not resume because she did not surrender herself to him. If he accepts her custody, her maintenance returns.
