Primary text

If the second marriage occurs after a period (one cycle or month) has passed from the first Iddah, and two more cycles or months pass before the second divorce, the first Iddah is terminated by the second marriage. If the ruling is that she must begin a new Iddah, she owes a full new Iddah of three cycles or three months. If the ruling is that she continues or builds upon the previous period, she completes the remainder of the first Iddah, which amounts to two cycles or two months.
