Primary text

If she enters *ihram* for Hajj after her husband's death and fears missing it, there is an opinion suggesting she may proceed due to the hardship of remaining in *ihram* unnecessarily. Another view requires her to observe iddah in her home first because iddah precedes the Hajj, and she was negligent in her timing. If she completes the iddah and can travel for Hajj, she must do so; otherwise, she exits *ihram* via the rites of Umrah, and her obligation to perform Hajj later follows the ruling of one whose Hajj was missed. If travel is impossible, she is treated like one prevented (*muhsar*). The same ruling applies if she enters *ihram* for Umrah, whether the convoy is feared to be missed or not.
