Are there any restrictions on the waiting woman's movement outside the home at night?
General Chapter
Al-Mughni
Book of Waiting Periods ('Iddah)
Primary text
The waiting woman is prohibited from staying overnight outside her residence, and generally prohibited from leaving at night, except out of necessity. This restriction is imposed because nighttime is generally presumed to be a time associated with potential corruption (*fasad*), in contrast to the daytime, which is presumed for fulfilling needs, earning a living, and purchasing necessities.
