What happens to the *Wala'* if multiple patrons manumit in succession?

If a distant grandfather transfers *Wala'*, and then a closer relative manumits, the *Wala'* transfers to the closer relative. Subsequently, if the father is manumitted, the *Wala'* transfers to him. This is because each one subsequent in lineage blocks the preceding one, negating their claim to *Ta'sib* (residuary status), inheritance, and patronage.
