Primary text
If the father was a slave and did not deny the children, and the mother's patrons inherited from the deceased child, and subsequently the father is manumitted, the guardianship transfers to the father's patrons. In this case, neither the mother's patrons nor the father have the right to reclaim the inheritance because the guardianship was established for them only upon the father's manumission, which differs from the case where the father confirms the lineage, as in that instance the lineage was established from the moment the child was created.
