Is it permissible for a master to authorize his freed person (*Mawla*) to affiliate with whomever he chooses?

It is not permissible for the master to grant permission to his freed person to affiliate with whomever he chooses, as this is related to the invalidity of transferring *Wala'*. The evidence against this is the prohibition against selling or gifting *Wala'*, and the statement: 'May Allah curse one who affiliates with someone other than his *Mawali* (patrons)'.
