The entry into churches and synagogues is not forbidden; similarly, entry into homes containing images is not forbidden. The fact that angels do not enter a place does not necessitate that we are forbidden from entering it, similar to a situation where a dog is present or being in the company of a caravan that possesses a bell, even though angels do not accompany them.
