Can a husband compel his non-Muslim (Dhimmi) wife to perform Ghusl after major ritual impurity (Janaba)?

Primary text
There are two narrations regarding this matter. One states that he can compel her because complete marital enjoyment depends upon it, as the husband's nature recoils from one who neglects Ghusl after janaba. The second narration states he cannot compel her, which is the position of Malik and Al-Thawri, as sexual intercourse remains permissible without it.
