Can a husband compel his wife to remove dirt and grime or trim her nails?

The permissibility of compelling the wife to remove accumulated dirt and grime or trim her nails follows the same two differing narrations concerning compelling her for Ghusl after Janaba. Both Muslim and Dhimmi wives are treated equally in this regard because the aversion caused by such conditions applies equally to both.
