Primary text
Playing with toys is permissible, provided they do not possess complete forms (images). This is evidenced by the report from Aisha, who stated that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) entered while she was playing with toys. When asked, she identified them as the horses of Solomon. The Prophet (peace be upon him) smiled upon hearing this. This narration is found in the collection of Muslim and similar sources.
