Is it permissible to wash hands using bran (nukhalah)?

It is permissible to wash hands using bran, as Imam Abu Abdillah stated there is no objection and that 'we do it.' Al-Khattabi provided evidence for this permissibility by citing the tradition where the Prophet, peace be upon him, commanded a woman to mix salt with water to wash blood from menstruation. Since salt is a foodstuff, things similar to it, such as bran, are analogous.
