Is performing ablution necessary after handling raw meat before praying?

Performing ablution is not necessary after handling raw meat before immediately standing for prayer. The Prophet (PBUH) held a piece of a sheep's shoulder in his hand, was called for prayer, dropped it, and then prayed without performing ablution.
