If his two wives reside in two different cities, he must maintain justice between them because he chose the separation. He must either travel to the absent wife during her allocated days or require her to move to him so they can reside in one city. If she refuses to move when able, her right is forfeited due to rebellion (nashuz). If he wishes to divide time between them while they are in their respective cities, he cannot adhere to a night-by-night division and must adjust the duration (e.g., month by month) based on what is feasible given the proximity or distance of the cities.
