When does the ruling for maintenance revert to that of a resident after relocation?

Upon reaching the destination country and establishing residence there with the wives who accompanied him, the ruling reverts to that of a resident. Consequently, he is obligated to provide maintenance (*nafaqah*) to the remaining wives for the duration they are absent from him while he is settled in that new location.
