Primary text

If the victim forgives Qisas for the severed finger, they are entitled to half the full Diyah. If the victim exacts Qisas for the finger, they receive compensation equivalent to forty camels for the paralyzed remaining fingers, and the corresponding portion of the palm, which is four-fifths of the palm. The Arsh for the palm portion is included within this compensation. There are two views regarding the remaining one-fifth of the palm: one opinion states that it follows the ruling of the four-fifths in terms of Arsh, meaning nothing further is due. The second opinion states that the Arsh for this remaining portion must be calculated separately through government assessment (Hukuma) because the four-fifths share a common ruling with the amputated part, while the remaining fifth has a ruling distinct from the compensation exacted through Qisas.
