Primary text
The compensation, whether the full Diyah or Arsh, must be allocated to the heirs of the injured party if the injured party dies. If the injury was inflicted upon a slave who subsequently gains freedom, the compensation must ultimately go to his Muslim heirs, just as any other property or earnings acquired after the injury. If the right to compensation is established upon the inheritance of his heirs, those heirs must be Muslims, excluding non-believers.
