The execution should not be repeated using the initial method if the victim does not die. Instead, the execution proceeds to striking the neck with the sword. This is because if a wound or amputation is inflicted in retaliation (Qisas) and the victim does not die from it, the repetition of the wound is not performed without disagreement; rather, the execution shifts to beheading.
