Can the guardian of a minor forgive the right to retribution (Qisas) without receiving compensation (Diyya)?

The guardian of a minor to whom retribution is due is not permitted to forgive the Qisas in exchange for nothing (i.e., without compensation). This is because the guardian does not possess the authority to completely relinquish the minor's right.
