The second assailant is liable for retribution in the life. There are two differing narrations regarding whether his limb should also be amputated.

If the heirs pardon the killing, the second assailant owes a single blood money payment. The first assailant owes half the value of the hand to his former master, and there is no retribution against him for the death.
