Primary text

If the later injuries result in death, and the two subsequent parties agree to compensation, the master is entitled to the lesser of one-third of the value or one-third of the compensation (*diyah*). This is based on the view that the final status of the injury (death) must be considered for determining the right due to the former master.

Alternatively, the master is entitled to the lesser of one-third of the value or one-third of the compensation (*diyah*) based on the initial injury's value relative to the full value, comparing it to scenarios where multiple subsequent injuries occur before manumission.
