If there are four perpetrators, one while the victim was a slave and three while free, leading to death, the master receives, according to one view, the lesser of the assessed value of the injury or one-fourth of the total compensation (*diyah*). The second view limits the master to the lesser of one-fourth of the total value or one-fourth of the total compensation (*diyah*).
