Al-Mughni
Book of Wounds
Primary text
If the piercing is misplaced or the ear is torn, the injured party has the choice between accepting *diyah* minus the value of the defect, or exacting *Qisas* upon the corresponding part of the assailant's ear while leaving the defective part of the assailant's ear untouched.
Supporting text
There are two differing opinions concerning whether the injured party is owed discretionary compensation (*hukoomah*) for the value of the hole itself.
