Is retaliation (Qisas) applicable for an eye injury?

Retaliation (Qisas) is applicable for an eye injury based on the statement of Allah: {And an eye for an eye} (Quran 5:45). Retaliation is permissible because the eye terminates at a joint, thus allowing for reciprocity, similar to the hand.
