Primary text

If one slave intentionally kills ten slaves belonging to one master, the master has the right to demand execution for all ten. If the master chooses financial compensation, the collective value of his ten slaves becomes attached to the neck of the killer slave. Each of the ten shares of liability is equivalent to one-tenth of the total value. The killer slave may be sold to cover the liability or redeemed by his master. The master has the discretion to execute some and pardon others, as he possesses the right to execute all or pardon all.
