Primary text

Retaliation (*qisas*) is not applicable for a head wound that does not reach the level of *Mawdihah* (a wound that exposes the bone) even if it causes the loss of sight in the eye. This is because there is no retaliation for such a wound if it does not expose the bone, and the ruling remains the same if the sight is lost. Treatment for the loss of sight in such cases follows the same principles established for a slap (*latmah*).
