Primary text

If the original wielder stitches the wound, or orders another to do so, and this action could potentially lead to death, the ruling follows that of consuming a poison with potential lethality, as previously discussed.

Supporting text

If another person stitches the wound without permission or under compulsion, both the sticher and the original wielder are deemed killers liable for Qisas. If the guardian or the ruler (Imam) stitches it, and they have no established guardianship over the injured party, they are treated as strangers. If they possess guardianship, no Qisas is due because their action of treatment is permissible for them, thus classifying it as an error (Khata). Regarding whether the original wielder is liable for Qisas in this latter case, there are two scholarly opinions based on the precedent regarding an accomplice in an accidental killing.
