What is the ruling on retaliation when a head wound exceeds the *Mawdihah* level and causes loss of eye sight?

If the head wound is above the level of *Mawdihah*, the injured party has the right to demand retaliation equivalent to a *Mawdihah* wound. Regarding compensation (*arsh*) for any excess damage beyond the *Mawdihah*, there are two scholarly opinions.
