What is the ruling on retaliation (Qisas) if a Muslim is wounded, then apostatizes, receives a second wound, and then returns to Islam and dies from the combination of both wounds?

Primary text
There is no Qisas when a person dies from two wounds, one inflicted while he was a Muslim (a legally guaranteed wound) and the other while he was an apostate (an un-guaranteed wound). In this case, half of the blood money (Diyya) is obligatory for the death. This ruling applies whether the two wounds are equal or unequal in severity, such as the apostate having his hands cut off while an apostate after his hands were cut off while a Muslim, or vice versa. This is because, in both scenarios, the situation is equivalent to the wounding of two separate men.
