What is the effect on the lunar year requirement for Zakah if the sale transaction is deemed invalid (*fāsid*)?

If the sale is invalid, the lunar year count for the Zakah asset is not interrupted, and the calculation continues from the initial lunar year. This is because ownership did not transfer through the invalid transaction, unless the return of the asset becomes impossible, at which point the ruling shifts to resemble that of usurped property (*maghṣūb*).
